The Supreme Court of Missouri is the state's highest court. Many of the day's most important and often controversial legal issues affecting Missourians and involving the state's constitution and laws come before this court. The Supreme Court Building in Jefferson City became a permanent home for the Court at its completion in 1907 using funds from the 1904 Worlds Fair in St. Louis. Look for the glass floors in the library, which allow light from the windows to filter down to the main floor. Tours of the Supreme Court are available Monday through Friday on the half-hour from 9:00 to 11:00 am and again from 2:00 to 3:30 pm.
Admission is free, but visitors are encouraged to schedule their tour by calling at least 24 hours in advance to ensure a tour guide is available.
