Although James Mackay and John Evans are not household names, they were some of the first explorers to lead an expedition to upper Missouri and connect with its people. The efforts of Mackay and Evans contributed important information to the explorations that followed, including that of the widely known Lewis and Clark Expedition. Join Carrie Hammond, interpretive resource specialist at the Missouri State Museum, to learn more about these early explorers.
The program will be held in the Missouri State Museum's History Hall, located in the east wing of the Missouri State Capitol. After hours access to the Capitol (after 5:30 pm) is through the garage on the east side of the building.
