From Page to Screen: The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Capitol City Cinema has partnered with Missouri River Regional Library for a six-part Book and Film series in 2018. Their fourth installment is The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

About the movie: Socially awkward teen Charlie (Logan Lerman) is a wallflower, always watching life from the sidelines until two charismatic students become his mentors. Free-spirited Sam (Emma Watson) and her stepbrother Patrick (Ezra Miller) help Charlie discover the joys of friendship, first love, music and more, while a teacher sparks Charlie's dreams of becoming a writer. However, as his new friends prepare to leave for college, Charlie's inner sadness threatens to shatter his newfound confidence.

It is encouraged that everyone read the book before the film screening, as there will be a discussion led by a librarian from Missouri River Regional Library.

This Event is free to the public, and while it is one of the teen selections, it is encouraged for people of all ages to attend. Doors open at 5:30 pm, film starts at 6:00 pm. Concessions will be served.
