Buried Jefferson City
Woodland-Old City Cemetery on East McCarty Street is the oldest burial ground in Cole County and among the oldest in the state. It was platted in 1823 and is the final resting place for this region’s earliest settlers. Michelle Brooks and Nancy Thompson, authors of “Buried Jefferson City History” will examine the lives of these people and the part they played in the birth and development of this city as well as the state of Missouri.
