Tour of Missouri

Professional cyclists from around the world will travel to Missouri to compete in this cycling race modeled after the Tour de France. Stage five of the race will finish in Jefferson City on Friday, September 12. One of the top three cycling races in the United States, the Tour of Missouri is a six day race that travels across the state. 17th Annual Capital Shoot-Out

Will your child be shooting for the gold at this year’s 17th Annual Capital Shoot-Out? If not, all are welcome to cheer on the more than 1,000 youth soccer players from around the state competing in Jefferson City. Tournament play will be held at the 63 Soccer Complex. Missouri Caves: A Utilitarian Legacy

In "Missouri Caves in History and Legend", H. Dwight Weaver takes readers deep underground to shed light on how caves contributed to the settlement, social, economic and cultural development of Missouri. In this program, Weaver will discuss how these underground places were used for burial sites, moonshine stills, hideouts for Civil War soldiers and outlaws and even as venues for underground dance parties in the late nineteenth century. Annual Capitol Jazz Fest

This music filled event will feature jazz and blues artists, both local and guest artists. This year is the 17th Annual Capitol Jazz Fest and promises to bring quality entertainment! The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and end at 7 p.m. The Capitol Jazz Fest plans to partner with the Council of the Arts’ chalk art event set for Friday, September 26, and Saturday, September 27. Jefferson City's Oktoberfest

Located at Jefferson Street and Dunklin Street in historic Old Munichburg, Oktoberfest is a celebration of Jefferson City's strong German heritage. It includes authentic homemade German food, music and dancing. A parade, car show, craft vendors and demonstrating artisans offer a day full of family activities. Some of the highlights include the Dachsund Derby and the Children's Train. A beer garden with live music serves as entertainment for the adults.
