Missouri State Criterium Championship

The best amateur and professional bicycle racers in the state of Missouri will compete on the streets of Jefferson City for the Missouri State Championship jersey and a $2,000 prize list. There will be races conducted throughout the day for each amateur category. The course is a one mile loop through downtown and around the Capitol. The event is from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and is free for spectators and $25 for participants, USA cycling license is required. Dave Para and Cathy Barton: A Tribute to Bob Dyer

The Missouri State Archives hosts "Dave Para and Cathy Barton: A Tribute to Bob Dyer." Robert "Bob" Dyer, a respected historian from Boonville, passed away in 2007. He was known for creating memorable balladry largely about Missouri subjects. Long-time friends of Dyer, Dave Para and Cathy Barton will be presenting a program showcasing some of Dyer's best-known songs about the Missouri River, the Boonslick region and its denizens and legends. The duo has studied and presented traditional and contemporary folk musick from Missouri and the Ozarks for thirty years. Art Inside the Park

August 21-24, Art Inside the Park will take place in Old Town (800 block of High Street) in Jefferson City. The event opens at 5 p.m. on Thursday, August 21. This is the 5th Annual Invitational Contemporary Art Festival. Visual artists, both local and international, participate and interpret space. There will be musical entertainment from Thursday night to Saturday night. The theme of this year's Art Inside the Park is Urban Revitalization with the artist, architect and engineer. American Heart Association's Start! Jefferson City Heart Walk

Put on your walking shoes and come out to join Mid-Missourians of all ages raise money for the American Heart Association. Last year over $95,000 was raised from the Heart Walk for research. Registration will begin at 8:00 am and the walk kicks off at 9:30 am at Memorial Park. We will have fun activities, educational booths, food and a Kids Zone. This is fun for the entire family.
